02/24/18 THE PATH OF THE PREDESTINED

02/24/18 THE PATH OF THE PREDESTINED

God has predestined the cringing, crying, mild, parched and hunger driven, miserable, pure, peacemaking, persecuted to be saved.

This is the meaning of the opening words of Jesus in His Sermon On The Mount (Mt. 5:1-12).

This flies in the face of conventional wisdom. In fact, it requires the work of God to bring us to these qualities, without which we will not and cannot come to God.

Remember, PREDESTINATION has to do with the how we must be saved.
We either get saved according to God's will and way or we will not be saved.

However, people resist the fact of their lostness and they reject God's way of salvation.
Some people deny their helpless and hopeless condition. They think they can help themselves, they think they can save themselves. They think they need to improve themselves.
Some people deny the plan of God to save us. They want His salvation, but on their own plan, without being driven to their knees.
Some people enter in through humility, but then they are puffed up and filled with self rather than filled with the presence, power and purity of God.

Salvation is a way, not simply an entrance. Humility and submission are Christian traits throughout our lives.
1 Peter 5:4-7
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

THE WAY UP IS DOWN.
