You missed a really good Bible Study session last night at The NET HOUSE.
I showed the importance of having and using good Bible apps on smartphones or electronic devices. Using My Sword or Bible Hub or some other good application opens up a world wide source of scholarly and spiritual help and information. I encouraged people to use Bible believing documentation (commentaries, dictionaries) to research the introductory notes concerning Bible books.
I demonstrated the methods of keeping records and pointed out the ancient history and writings of God and the pagan religions. I dramatized the method of Adam and Seth and Enoch and Noah (along with Cain and other infidels) passing on historical truths and myths.
I explained the origin of nations, from Noah, Shem (Asian), Ham (African) and Japheth (European); and the former classification of races (Caucasoid, Negroid and Mongoloid); the development of other "racial" groups developing from Asian and mixed racial groups.
I explained the migration of Asian and Melanesian people to South America (by boats) and North America (land bridge across Bering Sea). I mentioned Thor Heyerdahl's journey. I pointed out the similarity of Asian, Indian, Native American peoples, due to a common ancestry. (check out the DNA evidence).
I mentioned the unified land masses being divided, forming the continents, which gave common life forms across vast ocean divides.
I explained the difference between astrology and astronomy; the common origin and similarities of Arabic, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Nordic, Indian (sub -continental), Chinese, and Native Americans, developed separately by distance, language and geography.
I retraced the historicity of the Bible, through Job and Moses, pointing out that Job, living in the days of Abraham, already knew about the coming of Jesus and His death and His resurrection.
I introduced the idea of "True Myth" as expressed by Tolkien and Lewis. Pagan myths are based on Divine revelation that has been twisted, therefore they refer to the truth behind the myth as being the TRUE MYTH.
I addressed the similar "world wide flood" accounts throughout the world, through various cultures, but having the same origin in Noah.
I mentioned and addressed the Biblical roots of Beowulf and Gilgamesh.
I mentioned and addressed the problem of living without faith and living in opposition to the God of the Bible. This included personal and societal problems and sins. This also included the plight of the masses who live in squalor, such as the people in China who live in "cages," (while sharing a common room that serves as toilet, shower, kitchen and food preparation area), and the street people of San Francisco who also defecate openly on the public streets.
I pointed out the physical, social, hygienic, moral advantages provided through the Gospel.
I reiterated the dangers of Socialism and other anti-Biblical ideologies.
I finished by pointing out that FAITH in Christ and His word is the miraculous path of Divine intervention and deliverance from a life of sin.
We are saved by Biblical faith.
We walk by Biblical faith.
We hold on to faith until we go to be with the Lord.
Faith is the result of believing the word of God.

I have taken this passage from Ecclesiastes as my directive for preaching and teaching, whether oral or written.
Ecclesiastes 12:9-14
9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

If you get off course, turning in the right direction is not enough. You will miss your destination unless you get back on course.
Daddy was on a slow boat that was carried off course by the current. Though the captain turned north to return home, he approached the beach about 25 miles from his home port. He came to an inlet, but it was not the right inlet. The captain had drifted down the beach, but he did not know where he was. Not knowing the inlet put them in jeopardy, since they had arrived after dark and attempting to navigate a strange inlet or channel could be tragic.
HERE IS MY POINT. It is not enough to turn in the right direction after we have drifted or sailed deliberately off course. We must make sure that we are headed for the right port and we must get our course correctly aligned. There are hidden reefs, shifting sand bars, unknown currents, and just because it looks like the right way does not mean that it is the right way.
It takes energy, determination, courage, sacrifice, humility to realign with God, after abandoning our relationship and responsibilities. But the destiny of your soul demands your total commitment and your faithfulness to the course that God has set.
Just in case you wonder, JESUS IS THE WAY, He is the course, He is the destination.

66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
