12/08/18 CREATE A VOID AND IT WILL BE FILLED
This was the building we had as a worship facility (Sunday School, AM Worship, PM Worship, Midweek Bible Study in Greensboro, N.C.) in 1986. We had worship services, Bible Studies, Community Outreach Ministries, a Printing Ministry, a Street Ministry, a Youth Ministry, a Free Christian School (which had received recognition for outstanding academic training), among other ministries.
The State required us to ask permission to have services, and of course, being a Bible believing pastor, I would not ask the State for permission to do what God commanded, and to do that which had always been legal and unrestricted by our Constitution.
The State threatened to shut us down and put some of us in jail if we did not comply. Of course I would not comply. I did ask US Senator Jesse Helms, US Representative Howard Coble, State Representative Trip Sizemore, as well as Pat Robertson of CBN and Regents University (who was running for President of the USA at that time). All of them REFUSED to get involved in our situation, though they did acknowledge our legitimate concerns (except for State Representative Trip Sizemore, who told us that if we did not like the laws of North Carolina we should go somewhere else).
I also communicated with Reverend Jerry Falwell and Dr. D. James Kennedy (among others locally), but they chose not to stand with us either. However, some of these same "big guns" of American Government and Religious Freedom often stood with, and supported, and testified in behalf of the self proclaimed Second Coming of Jesus, Sun Myung Moon, head of the cult, The Unification Church.
Our situation was clearly one of State oppression and Freedom of Religion, but those who were called upon to stand for freedom and the Lordship of Christ, opted out. We eventually did leave the State. But the void caused by anti-Christ politics and uncaring religionists opened the door to an Islamic Mosque, around 2006. Don't be surprised when darkness floods into our society, after Christ and His word are denied and abandoned.
Careless and care less people have surrendered the morals and spiritual foundation of America into the hands of the enemies of the Cross. When the people of God won't stand for truth, the denizens of darkness will come in like a flood and occupy that space and conquer that community.
I still have a hard time looking at this scene.
