08/08/18 REFLECTING ON MY DAY

08/08/18 REFLECTING ON MY DAY
DASH-CAM MESSAGE

Driving home after really hot day on kayak. Patched face and drenched body from the heat, and really tired. Reflecting on my day.
I don't always do what I want to do on my recreational outings, because I am not always physically up to the challenges. I make compromises, in order to at least do some of what I want to do.
I sometimes face challenges that are not "fun" or easy, but I often take them on in order to improve my on situation and guild my on strength and endurance.
I always look for the beauty and the joy of my adventures, realizing that the good things often come with a price.
I take advantage of buddy time and solitude. I enjoy both and really enjoy having both conditions during the same trip.
More important than a good kayak time in the water, more important than catching fish, more important than a time to relax and rewind are the occasions that I have in meeting and witnessing to people who really need to get saved.
It is not easier as I get older and as my condition falters. One day I might not be able to do these things anymore. Mostly I will miss the opportunity to share these times with family and other friends.
