USING OUR FEARS AND DESIRES TO DIRECT OUR FOCUS
STILL WORKING ON THESE NOTES
Just as two points on a map help us set our course, so there are two ideas that help us set our course of actions.
What do we fear (what do we hope will not happen), and what do we want to be or accomplish in the future. One idea helps us avoid the pitfalls of life and the other helps us clarify our goals.
The "fear" question came from my two youngest granddaughters. They asked Martha what her greatest fear is. Of course, the greatest concern we have as grandparents is that any of our children or grandchildren will not trust and follow Jesus. But on a more temporal basis, the same as any loving grandparent, she said she did not want the grandchildren to ever quit loving her. Of course the greatest concern is
