2nd Amendment advocates rattle their memes, and ridicule non-violent Christians, while the State rapes society.
God has given the sword of steel to the State to protect the righteous and punish the wicked.
The State is answerable to God for actions and inaction.
God has given the sword of the Spirit to the Church (Christians) to convert the lost, perfect the saved, battle spiritual foes.
Believers are answerable to God for actions and inaction.
Study the New Testament (where the Christian life is explained) to see what God expects from believers in the face of oppression and opposition.
The New Testament recognizes the God given right and responsibility of the State to wield the sword of steel, and forbids the followers of Christ to use physical violence.
God approves of the police and military wielding the sword of steel.
God disapproves of believers being physically violent.
If you ain't gonna use the sword of steel, don't make threats with the sword of steel.
If you ain't gonna use the sword of the Spirit, don't claim to be a soldier of the cross.
It is true, those who live by the sword will die by the sword.
Choose your weapon.
Though the Second Amendment was written to protect society from an oppressive government and though I believe that legitimate government has a right to bear the sword of steel, I do not advocate that Christians take up arms against the State, even when the State is oppressing Christians.
The Second Amendment was not written for the purpose of killing squirrels or deer or even the house thief. It was written to protect the citizenry against a State gone bad.
I think that the Second Amendment is a necessary protection against State oppression, but I don't think anyone is going to stop the corrupting of this world by use of the sword. We will not see the kingdom (of God) until the King comes back.
This is why Christians are given directives on how to live in this present evil world.
