06/11/18 STOPPING THE INSANITY
If I hurt family members by abrasively mocking, judging, bullying, degrading; I should not be invited to gatherings or events and I understand that I should not be invited.
It would be easy to tell a Christian that "he should not turn his back on another person," even if the other person is a callous, offensive person. After all, "love would not shut them out."
First, it is not a lack of love nor unChristian to put restraints on people who are destructive, venomous, toxic, noxious and vicious.
Also, it is not just a matter of protecting one's own space. This kind of malicious person comes into a family setting and ravages through the lives and joy like a wild animal, devouring at will and then saying that if anyone is offended it is their fault.
Caring about the peace, dignity, joy of others and not allowing a bully to run roughshod over other people is not a matter of being unkind. ANYONE can be civil, courteous, considerate.
How any one individual deals with such a person is a personal choice, but allowing precious children and loved ones to be verbally abused is not the Christian response to a selfish person.
Time is short. If a person chooses to refuse admonition and chooses to insult and shame and misrepresent other people, that is their choice. Allowing or disallowing them the venue for hatred and anger is the choice of the family.
What a shame that so many wonderful family get together times are ruined and never recovered. People pass away and never get to enjoy the loving members of the family because of the selfish, arrogant, rebel who seeks only his/her own sick pleasure.
The hope that such families have is that the "one man wrecking team" will come to his/her senses in time to rejoin the family for a time of mutual love, appreciation, encouragement.
God did not create the family to be a place for sin to run rampant. Actions have consequences, and the sooner a person faces this, the sooner they can become part of the most beautiful group dynamic in the world, THE GATHERING OF A LOVING FAMILY.
