This is a FOLLOW UP to my previous post, which categorized verses entitled, "THE LAW OF..."
BIBLICAL CONCEPT...The Law Of Love
In a parevious study I listed over 40 different phrases from the KJV which referred to phrases assoicated with laws, such as the law of Moses, the law of God, the law of sin and death.
We also find phrases such as, "the royal law," and "the law of liberty" both of which are related to this "law of love."
In this document I am going to address the rule of, or "the law of love" in the heart and life of a Christ follower. The phrase, "law of love" is not actually in the Bible, but Jesus declares "love" as the "commandment of God," and love is mentioned often when the law, rule of God is being addressed. Love is the motivating factor in obeying God, and therefore I refer to it as "the law of love."
The following verses show the relationship of love to law. Love fulfills the law. There are several verses taken from Deuteronomy concerning the relationship between love and law. The Old Testament passages clearly show the redemptive and active element in LOVE for God and then, in turn, for our fellow man.
I have included over 30 passages, though there are many more which link love and law together. Remember, we are not saved by being law keepers, we are saved by loving God, which results in keeping the law of God. Love is the fulfilling of the law. We do not keep the law to be saved, We keep the moral law of God because He has saved us from being lawless,
1 Timothy 1:8-11
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
Salvation does not enslave a person to rules and regulation religion. Salvation sets people free from sin, and empowers them through the love of God, which is shed abroad in their hearts.
Romans 5:5-6
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
1 Thessalonians 4:7-9
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

Deuteronomy 30:6
6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
