"DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?"
TUNING SOMEONE OUT CAN BE THE COSTLIEST THING YOU EVER DO.
GOD COULD BE TALKING THROUGH THEM.
DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKETUNING SOMEONE OUT CAN BE THE COSTLIEST THING YOU EVER DO.

GOD COULD BE TALKING THROUGH THAT PERSON.
Shoving someone out of your life,
diminishes your relationship,
hurts the other person and,
robs you of whatever they have to offer.
And cutting them off may very well be closing God out of your life because God chooses His vessels differently than we do.
1 Corinthians 1:25-29
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Sometimes it is not the the ignored person or even their input that causes others to shut them out. Sometimes it is the narrowness or self centeredness of the hearer. Whatever the reason, it is inexcusable. Remember, we are directed to treat others in the way we want to be treated. I know it is never going to happen, BUT WHAT IF one day, people shut you out and mute your wisdom because they think you and your input have become insignificant?
Another aspect to this tragedy is that people allow their own exaggerated self esteem and tunnel vision to assign Divine enlightenment to the "circular file" of life. God not only speaks through the seemingly "foolish" and "weak" and "base things" and "despised things," but God also speaks through the simple (childish) things, the "old school" things.

In fact, the wisdom that comes with age and experience (especially in Christians) is often ignored or ridiculed. The very truths and guidance that could save and deliver people from untold misery is cast off, because of disdain for the person through whom God chooses to share it.
