BASED on the word of God (which commands us to obey, enables us to obey, holds us accountable for our obedience),
Rather than being based on the word of man (which does not trust, follow, obey God),
Or being based on the word of Satan (which says that sin will not separate us from God or bring us death),
AND allowing for the possibility that a believer can obey God, even one time (which requires the grace of God and indicates that obedience is possible), then

Is a believer more likely to obey God by being told that he can obey or that he cannot obey?
Is a believer more likely to obey God by believing that he can obey God or believing that he cannot obey God?
Is a believer more likely to obey God by listening to preaching that requires obedience or preaching that does not require obedience?
Is a believer more likely to obey God if he fellowships with other believers who believe in victorious, obedient living or with people who do not believe in victorious, obedient living?

AS I SAID, PRETTY CLEAR FOLKS
Romans 6:15-23
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 7:1
1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
