03/12/18 HALF TRUTHS ARE BLINDING AND BINDING
False narratives, optics, sound bite theology, feel good philosophy, half truths and "conversations" are replacing Biblical revelation.
When a partial truth is presented as a whole truth, we need to be aware that the prince of darkness is leading us into a velvet trap.
The Bible does not say, "a half truth will make you free."
In fact, deliverance comes to those who are continuing in Jesus, and know the whole truth about an issue.
The Bible does say,
John 8:31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Not only are there whole (and essential) truths related to specific Biblical doctrines, such as forgiveness and restoration or reconciliation, there are whole systems that must fit within the parameters of Divine revelation in order for us to understand the soteriology and the whole counsel of God. This requires submission, study, and spiritual insight concerning God's word.
To base our beliefs on "sound bite theology" is to believe the lie of Satan. It is in the same category as accepting one side of an argument, without hearing the other side. This is what leads to false doctrine, broken relationships, shallow and hollow profession of faith.
For instance, forgiveness and reconciliation are not one way streets, and they are not available aside from Divine design.
God's plan to reconcile us to Himself and to restore broken relationships is based in truth, is loving and is also demanding. Short circuiting or watering down God's plan robs others of God's blessings.
"Truth in love" is the plan of God.
When deciding what God actually expects, we need to know what God actually said.
When deciding who to believe, we need to make our decision based on the facts of the matter and on our own relationship with that person, rather than the evaluation of other people. This is true, whether the person is presented as a hero or a zero.
Here is a good place to start.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
