09/27/18 BEWARE

09/27/18 BEWARE
Knowing something does not make us expert.
Expert knowledge does not insure understanding.
Understanding is not wisdom.

Remember my previous post.
"A little (or abundant) knowledge is a dangerous thing." Even about God. We need God's word (truth) and God's Spirit (wisdom).

While the gospel is simple enough for anyone, even a child, to grasp, we must realize that the truths of God and the teachings of the Bible are not child's play, but rather they are the teachings of God concerning the most lofty thoughts in the human realm.

God invites us to come to His throne boldly, but we must be humble in order to receive the light of God into our lives.

Truth, knowledge, understanding, wisdom are various facets of God's revelation. God is Spirit and God's truth is communicated to spiritual people. Being spiritual (in the truest sense, in the Christian sense) requires the regenerating and enlightening work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

While all believers are ambassadors of Christ, God calls and gifts and anoints certain people to do certain ministries in the body of Christ, and God specifically uses those who choose to submit to God's melting, molding and moving.

The further people move from God; the slower people respond to God; the less spiritually minded believers become, the less light will be comprehended, which will cause the darkness to thicken in our society and the light in the Church will become darkness.

God is Spirit and He is truth and He is seeking people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth.

The same directive that Jesus gives to a new follower is applicable to the oldest saint in the church.
Luke 9:23-24
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
